Beginner lense,
This is a great telephoto lense for a beginner to advanced user. I don’t see professionals having too much use for this as it is in fact a cheap lense, Pros tend to use more expensive lenses and there are better telephoto lenses out there. Mirrored lenses will give you better quality than non-mirrored lenses because they don’t distort the image through a bunch of lenses, the image is only magnified through one or two lenses for the camera to pick it up clearly from the mirror. Ensure you have the T-Mount and 2X magnifier such as this one provides. Yes you can find this same lense cheaper by a couple of bucks but you aren’t getting those items with it.

|Save money for something better,
The quality of product received was not up to standards. Pictures at Amazon do not match the packaging I’ve received. All are made in China and marked 2006, 2009, 2010.I have Opteka 0.2 wide angle lens, also made in China, and pretty happy with that. On 500mm you can see the sloppy glue job at the front reflector. Images were unusably blurry, and I’ve used all tricks to stabilize shots- tripod, remote shutter release, etc. Pictures of Moon with supplied 2x TC were not good at all.Supplied filters (especially ND) are useless, cause it’s not enough light anyway with f8. But the biggest disappointment is customer service, sold by 47th Street Photo. It’s already a month since I’m trying to get refund, but they “mistakenly” sending the package back to me. Don’t buy from them, until you’re going to keep product 100% for sure.
